Who We Are
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a ‘lay Catholic organization whose mission is to live the gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.
As Vincentians, our Mission is to see Christ in anyone who suffers, come together as a family, have personal contact with the poor and help in all possible ways.’ Our volunteers seek people in need, wherever they live - in their homes, on the street, in shelters, in hospital or in prison.
The activity of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is always based on love of neighbor in the local community and volunteers work in their own area to respond to these needs.
"My command is this: Love one another as I have loved you"
-John 15:12
Our Mission
Our Lady of Lourdes Conference serves the area from the bridge all the way to Peachland, where our volunteers (called Vincentians) seek to help the poor wherever they live. Our OLOL conference, in collaboration with other charities, has served hundreds of families, relying completely on the donations from our Parish and other generous individuals and organizations to carry out our work.
Our Work in the Community:
-
food hampers for those in need
-
home visits (before the restrictions)
-
emergency rent assistance through our "Invincible Housing" project
-
Back to School Program (purchasing clothing & school supplies)
-

-
donations and fellowship with the men at Ozanam House
-
purchasing gifts for families in need, at Christmas
